Around 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, generating wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Locals observed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities verified that different parts across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams handled over five hundred calls for help across the region, mainly for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

At the height on the previous day, in excess of twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both states.
